Student Counsellor – Kevin MacDonald

I believe every individual has the potential to thrive in the face of challenges and find their unique path forward. My goal is to help you reach this potential. I offer support, guidance, and a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. By working together to make sense of your difficulties, identify your values, and build on your strengths, I hope to empower you to reach your goals and cope with future challenges.

I am a student in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University, and I am working under the supervision of Elizabeth Stoakley, M.A., R.P., as part of my training. Prior to pursuing work as a counsellor, I completed a M.A. and Ph.D. in a research-based graduate program studying behavioural and cognitive neuroscience at Brock University. I have expertise in topics of memory and sleep.

I believe in providing unconditional respect and recognizing the strength in both individuality and community. I use an integrative approach that aims to help you develop personal insight and build the skills and knowledge to act on it.
